KDOT has started a project to modernize East Kellogg from K-96 to 159th Street in Wichita and Andover, continuing the Kellogg Road improvements east. The project will reduce congestion, increase safety, improve trip reliability and support economic growth within the region. The modernization of East Kellogg is part of Kansas’ IKE Program—a 10-year, $10 billion program focused on preserving, modernizing and expanding Kansas’ transportation system.
KDOT evaluated different delivery methods and selected progressive design-build as the preferred approach to procure and deliver the East Kellogg project. Environmental work is underway and anticipated to be complete in January 2023. KDOT is now developing a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) for qualified design-build teams to complete the East Kellogg project. The RFQ is scheduled to be available in April 2022.
A one-page fact sheet is available which includes a phase one concept map, construction timeline and project contact information.
